Bhaskareeyam 2025 - Mainstage

Bhaskareeyam 2025 - Mainstage

For over 70 years, our founders - the late Sri KP Bhaskar and the late Smt Santha Bhaskar - built their lives around our institutions. Their contributions to the arts landscape in Singapore is immeasurable, and this annual festival is our way of celebrating them and their greatest love, the Arts.

From 29 Aug to 31 Aug, you can immerse yourself in the music and dance of some artistically excellent artists from Singapore and abroad. An exciting slate of music and dance acts await you in this spectacular performing arts festival!

HEADLINE ACTS + MASTERCLASS/LECDEM
Headlining the Festival are the illustrious Sutra Foundation led by Datuk Ramli Ibrahim as well as renowned Indian Carnatic vocalist Dr Vaikom Vijayalakshmi. An interactive masterclass and an engaging lecdem by both these exponents are also on the cards.

MAIN ACTS
Bringing you on a journey of rhythms, melodies and emotions at the Mainstage are the Bhaskar's Arts Academy Orchestra, Carnatic vocalist Sripriya Vijay, creator/performer on the one-of-a-kind string instrument Vishnu Navtar, and tabla maestro G Lakshmanan. Immerse yourself in these enchanting music performances and let every note, beat, and lyric spark something deep inside.

Transporting you into a world of beauty, grace and movement are Bhaskar's Arts Academy's multi-genre dancers, Western contemporary dance troupe T.H.E Dance Company, Bharatanatyam dancers from Usharani Maniam Dance Academy, and Indian fusion act Omkar Arts. Be mesmerised as the dancers' bodies become instruments, conveying stories, emotions, and ideas through every step, gesture, and expression.

PRASAANTHAM
Named in honour of Smt Santha Bhaskar, the Prasaantham series is intended as a platform for upcoming artistes to grow and glow, and as a stepping stone to be introduced to the music and dance industry. Thus far, the series has featured 22 dance artistes and 17 music artistes. This year, an electrifying showcase of emerging artistes await you! Preparing to take the industry by storm are Swaminathan Raja (Carnatic vocal), Akhilesh Vadari (Bharatanatyam), Madhuri Suresh (Bharatanatyam), Kritika Suresh (Bharatanatyam), Koushik Das (Odissi), Abhilash Mohan & Thanigeshwaran Pannir Chelvam (Violin), Vinita Venugopal (Kathak) and Janaki Nair (Bharatanatyam).
