Kāvyāṅgikā काव्याङ्गिका

Kāvyāṅgikā काव्याङ्गिका

A dance of story telling through Kavya and Angika.

With the poetry, echoed steps, rhythm and movement the dance becomes the story and the dancer, the storyteller.

Presented by accomplished Odissi danseuse Sarita Mishra, Kāvyāṅgikā काव्याङ्गिका intertwines the written word with movement and creates poetry in motion.

Sarita comes with over four decades of artistic experience, excelling as a performer, scholar, and mentor in the field of performing arts. She is renowned for her expertise in improvisation, visualization, choreography, costume design, stagecraft, and art direction, and has made significant contributions to the Odissi dance landscape. Sarita holds a Master’s degree in Odissi Dance and a Bachelor’s in Sociology, blending academic depth with artistic excellence. An alumna of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Integral Education and Ramadevi Women’s College, Bhubaneswar, she continues to inspire through her dedication to the classical arts. She is the Artistic Director of Adyasha Foundation, Bengaluru.

Join her as she offers a visual imagery of age old poetry.
