Aham Brahmaasmi

Aham Brahmaasmi

The search for true happiness and inner peace remains a never-ending quest for mankind. We have been trying to find the answers to this elusive mystery from time immemorial – is the path to Inner Bliss through power, money, worship, family, relationships or renunciation?

Aham Bramhaasmi is an exploratory dance drama that will demystify this profound philosophy through visual storytelling. Using both classical Odissi and Contemporary dance as well as elements of English theatre, the production hopes to offer some clarity in the realisation of the self and the Absolute.

Odissi danseuse Indu Vijay takes on the challenge of conveying the abstract concept, and is supported in her quest by Indo-contemporary dancer Shahrin Johry and her team of students. Adding authenticity to the production is original musical score performed by a live ensemble from Orissa and Singapore, including Ruan artist Neil Chua.
