Stree - The Divine Feminine

Stree - The Divine Feminine

From birth to death, we are surrounded by the feminine. It takes on the forms of beauty in the things that we see and feel - the sky, the stars, the flowers and the oceans. The feminine nurtures with love yet fiercely protects, completing and complementing the masculine by bringing balance. Present in one and all, the feminine is Divine.

Stree - The Divine Feminine is the second production to sprout from BAA's Creation Lab scheme, following the success of Sudar - A Spark of Devotion in Mar 2023. The scheme hopes to empower next gen artistes by giving them the space and platform to explore, experiment and create.

The Bharatanatyam production is choreographed by BAA Company dancer Bala Saravanan Loganathan, and presented by his fellow dancers. He is mentored by senior resident choreographer Ambujah Thiru. The dancers will be accompanied by musicians from BAA's youth ensemble Swathi, under the leadership of resident vocalist/violinist, TV Sajith, as well as the guidance of resident music director Dr Ghanavenothan Retnam. The ensemble is mentored by world-renowned Indian classical musician and composer, Rajkumar Bharathi.
