Understanding the Natya Shastra

Conducted by Kerala-based Sri Nimesh K Sharma, this 3-month online course is specially curated for dancers to gain a basic understanding of the voluminous Natya Shastra, the ancient encyclopedic treatise on the performing arts. Through this workshop, dancers will be exposed to the theory of dance and acquire a broader perspective of the art form they practise.

Having completed his Post-Graduate in Mohiniattam at RLV College in Thripunithura, Sri Nimesh K Sharma went on to secure 2nd rank in MA Mohiniattam. An accomplished Bharatanatyam, Mohiniattam and Kuchippudi dancer, Nimesh is known for the extraordinary energy he exudes and the elegance he portrays on stage. His bewitching and thoughtful writing make him a rarity, with works such as Dhasavatharam, Amma Mahathmyam, Panjamukhi, Gangavatgaram, Saravanatarangam, Brahmakawtham, Sleehacharitham, Sreekrishnatarangam to his name. He has also shown prowess in handling various carnatic keerthanas. This magnificent dancer, brilliant choreographer and talented lyricist is regularly invited to showcase his expertise in and around Kerala.
