OM NAMA SHIVAYA
A Kathak Dance Drama
Pandit Charan Girdhar Chand, a leading exponent in the Jaipur Gharana or school of Kathak dance, choreographs this dance drama based on the ancient text of the Maha Shiva Purana. It tells the story about the demon Tarakasura who rules three worlds and can only be defeated by a future son of Shiva and Parvati. The gods hence attempt to unite the divine couple with the help of Kamadeva, the god of desire.
